Omnipotence
My name is Death!.
All things with breath
Acknowledge me their sovereign,
And come to me
Eventually,
Submissive to my atropine.
Kings, princes, potentates are mine –
Soldiers and slaves –
Servants and beggars must incline.
The greatest beast,
And the least,
Its life surrenders at my sign!.
My name is Love!.
I do not crave
Submission from each living race.
I am not proud,
Coerce no crowd;
I have no need to press my case.
I make no prince nor pauper face
Dread majesty;
Nor beast demean, nor plant abase.
And yet I can
Death’s might outspan;
My potence Death cannot erase!.
