     We made a pilgrimage to see the place

Which has been, always, deep within her mind,

My darling’s home and haven of repose.

     There, at the ‘Meeting of the Waters’, we

Stood together and drew into our souls

The beauty and the pleasure of that site.

     We did not fret about those ugly scars

Which ruthless commerce had inflicted near;

They could not spoil the magic in our hearts.

     For we were looking at a dream of hope;

And we were breathing inspiration’s air;

And we were bathing in fresh streams of love.

     Together then; and through the mystery of shared

     Experience, always to be together there.
