                (21 October 1805)

The Franco-Spanish fleet sailed South,

     From oldCadizsailed out;

          Sailed out to history.

Englandwas waiting for them there;

     Nelson was waiting near;

          Waiting for history.

TrafalgarBaywas where they met;

     Trafalgar where they fought;

          Trafalgar: history!.

Guns flamed, guns roared, shot tore their sheets:

     Flamed, roared and smashed their ships;

          Guns blaring history.

Heroes, on both sides, in melée

     Lived, fought and died that day;

          Heroes of history.

The victory toEnglandcame;

     Brought dying Nelson fame;

          The fame of history.
