I’ve travelled through so many lands
And stayed in splendid places,
Yet rarely have I ever found
A residence whose graces –
Warm welcome, simple comforts
And environs sublime –
Have tempted me to linger
Beyond contracted time.
But Lochmatt was such pleasure
That I was loath to leave;
So when I next have leisure
I hope you will receive
Beneath its roof, as grateful guest,
One who appreciates the best.
