The Lover’s Complaint

Love is a caring, sharing sentiment!.

I do not want some smooth-wrought words writ down

To camouflage your lack of faith in me.

I want to feel the actions of your love,

The doing, (not the telling!), of your heart’s

Emotions, unreserved and free from doubts.

I want your confidence and trust to shew

In sharing with me all your life; not just

To let me have a ‘special’ part of you.

Between two lovers there should not exist

One single separating secret thought

Defining where they have no right to be.

So do not so distrust yourself that you can trust

Nobody else at all!. That’s not true love for me.
