Why Should I Care?
Why should I care, (are cares so few?),
If you withdraw your favours from my reach
After so many years of turbulence?.
Why should I care, (pained by cares’ rue!),
If you reject me now and seek to breach
My patient heart’s long-standing preference?.
Why should I care, (whose care is true),
If I must lose my family and pend
Myself, at your behest, in exilence?.
Why should I care, (since care I do),
If our association now must end,
To be replaced by insulence?.
Because I want your favour, honour and love too;
Because my heart still favours, honours and loves you!.
