Trust
It seems to me that, when I place my trust
In humankind, something always goes wrong!.
Though with the best intentions and most strong
Affections, promises are turned to dust.
No, I’m not cynical of friends!. It’s just
That they are trying to contend with powers
Which are too great for them and so they must
Fail of necessity, both theirs and ours!.
So now I rest my trust in God’s almighty strength
For, though He may be slow, He keeps His word, at length!.
