Into the Unknown
Westwards, on winds of hope, I sail at last
Towards my bright tomorrow’s hidden lands;
As once Columbus and Magellan went
To find their destinies in history.
Columbus for the Indies set his course
But found, instead, Southern America;
Magellan sought to circumnavigate
The globe and posthumously reached his goal.
Broader horizons than these two I seek
In my mind’s seas of undiscovered thoughts
And oceans of surmise. In ships of words
Worlds yet undreamed of are my constant quest.
Into the unknown and unknowable I sail,
As steadfast in my hopes as those whose names I hail.
