Sublimating Love
My solemn-seeming visage hides, underneath its frown,
That sensitive affection which you alone have known.
Love for you is sublimating all my baser traits,
Refining me till I become fit foil for your grace.
How can I express the fervour you arise in me?.
No words known on Earth are able to speak suitably.
My external granite nature, pierced by your strong love,
Shews its richer, mellow centre, true content to prove.
Living miravle of of rapture, how you bless my life,
Changing misery to gladness, winning peace from strife!.
My ambitions have one target as their constant aim:
Your delight is my best pleasure, your success the same.
All I own to you is offered; all my life is yours;
May I ever share your presence whom my heart adores!.
