                            Consensuality

                        (for Heidi and Pierre)

[    To give oneself completely is to cede control

To someone else – whom we entrust implicitly

With its safe keeping in love’s tender liberty –

Of self-possession’s pride in body, mind and soul. ]

I licence you, my darling, to explore

My private territory; all its groves,

Valleys and hills – lush, deep or high – its caves

And secret places. These shall be as your

Own Paradisal park where you may delve

For any treasures which you hope to find

To satisfy your body or your mind.

From you I’ll not reserve to my sole self

One single portion where you may not go;

Nor interdict whatever you might choose

In furtherance of your desires. I’ll lose

Self-inhibitions so that you can know

How limitless is love’s intent to please

Your every wish. I’ll willingly disclose,

For your delight, each thing which you suppose

     Could satisfy your interests’ degrees.

All that I ask in recompense, my love,

Is that same freedom for myself to play

In your own properties, by night or day,

As fancy or desire may prompt my move.

I’d use such liberty, once granted, to

Discover whatsoever happiness

Can be revealed through tender lustiness

For your sole satisfaction. Let me do

What pleases me the most and you will learn

Sensations that must conjure thrilled surprise,

Through ravished senses, to your startled eyes!.

You need not harbour care’s smallest concern

That my activities could ever be

Other than for your vantage, to locate

As many proofs as possible which state

     We are each other’s, indissolubly.

Let us agree it!. There need be no shame

In demonstrating love is physical:

For doing what is only natural

There is no censure, nor should there be blame..

Let us explore each other without fear,

Delighting in those fresh discoveries

New-shared, of sense or sensibilities,

That might sustain us year on passing year.

And when volcanic passions’ torrents still

In minds and flesh, let us enjoy our rest

With mingled breaths and sated bodies tressed

In intimate felicity, until

Desire once more ignites our energies

To practice what experience has learned

Consensually; what our shared love has earned

     Invested in renewed complicities!.
